The Minnesota Timberwolves have a bright future with Anthony Edwards being one of the team's key cogs moving forward. The talented swingman is a natural-born scorer who's only going to get better with a little more seasoning.

Edwards displayed his bucket-getting ability and parlayed it with a dash of creativity in the Timberwolves' matchup against the Sacramento Kings.

The 2020 first overall pick was speeding downhill while Kings center Richaun Holmes waited for him inside the shaded area. In an uber-savvy move, Edwards pulled off a Euro step then transitioned to a fadeaway to give the defender no chance of blocking his shot.

The Timberwolves guard is shrugging off any notion of a sophomore jinx. In 13 games prior to Wednesday night, Edwards is averaging 22.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals nightly. He's the Timberwolves' second-leading scorer, behind Karl-Anthony Towns.

The prolific guard had a scorching start to the season, but Edwards' performance became inconsistent as of late. After scoring a career-high 48 points against the league-leading Golden State Warriors, the succeeding games saw him finish with nine, 21, and nine markers, respectively.

The Timberwolves are banking on him to dust off this recent slump as they attempt to find their way back into the Play-In or even playoff circle and further away from the Western Conference's cellar.
