Auburn will be without kicker Anders Carlson as it travels to Columbia to face South Carolina on Saturday. That’s not the only key injury for the Tigers, of course, as TJ Finley will play at quarterback in place of Bo Nix.

Carlson, like Nix, is finished for the season, with the senior undergoing surgery to fix a tear in the ACL in his left knee. It’s possible that he has played his last game as a Tiger, but a decision to return in 2022 for a 6th year of eligibility versus declaring for the NFL Draft is still a number of weeks away.

We do know who will split time at the kicking role for the Tigers on Saturday: Ben Patton and Evan McGuire, per Bryan Harsin.

Patton, a 3rd-year sophomore and the backup to Carlson, saw time in 2019 against Samford as he kicked a pair of extra points and kicked off twice. McGuire, a redshirt freshman, has yet to see collegiate action.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
