11-18-21 local health care leaders return to offer virtual covid-19 vaccine updates

As people try to stay up to date on the latest information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, local health care leaders are returning to offer virtual updates.    St. Agnes Hospital president Katherine Vergos and Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller are hosting the Zoom sessions to provide COVID-19 updates and answer participant questions.  Vergos says the decision to hold the Zoom sessions was made  to provide accurate COVID-19 vaccine information and to address common myths and rumors.  One of those rumors is that hospitals like St. Agnes Hospital have received millions of dollars in COVID relief money by falsely reporting COVID cases.  Vergos says there is no way SSM Health would jeopardize it’s reputation by doing that.   “We are an ethical organization.  We feel very strongly about our honesty and commitment to this community,”  Vergos said.  Vergos also says claims that thousands of people have died from the vaccine, including children, as reported on VAERS, on the CDC website,  are not true.   “People can self-report on that website,”  Vergos said.   “People may be putting information out there that people are dying from the vaccine when there are other health issues that have caused that death.”   The first Zoom session was held Monday.  Other sessions will be held November 29, December 13 and January 10.  You can participate by logging on to the SSM Health Greater Fond du Lac and Health Department websites or Facebook page.
