WATCH: Boston legend Larry Bird proves 1986 Celtics were the greatest team of all time

Perhaps more than any other topic in history, a veritable sea of ink has been spilled on what player in NBA history is the league’s greatest of all time, but another important such debate is which team was the greatest to ever grace an Association court.

And at or very nearly so the top of any such list is the 1985-86 Boston Celtics. It was a team that featured Celtics legend Larry Bird at the apex of his Hall of Fame career (and a G.O.A.T. candidate himself) along with fellow Hall of Famers Kevin McHale, Robert Parish, Bill Walton, and Dennis Johnson along with Boston greats Danny Ainge, Jerry Sichting, and Scott Wedman.

Along the way, The Hick From French Lick would win his third straight Most Valuable Player award and Walton Sixth Man of the Year among the team’s many accolades and finished with the club winning its 16th title against the Houston Rockets.

In the video embedded above, our friends over at the CLNS Media “NBA History & Legends on CLNS” YouTube channel make the case for the 1986 Celtics being the greatest team of all time.

Check out the clip, and see if you agree.
