Coley pots hat trick in Detroit Lakes' loss in Thief River Falls

Detroit Lakes senior Emma Coley is off to an impressive start in her final girls hockey season.

On Tuesday night, Coley scored three goals in the Lakers’ 13-4 loss at Thief River Falls. She also scored the lone goal in Detroit Lakes’ opening game loss to Fergus Falls.

Coley tied the game at 1-1 six minutes into the first period with assists from Kaydence Thorsteinson and Ella Larson. She would later assist on Adisyn Strand’s goal in the third period before burying two more late in the third.

TRF’s Kali Knutson had four goals, while Bella Amoit had three. Jayden Breiland had two goals and two assists. The Prowlers outshot Detroit Lakes 37-29.

Bella Berzinski made 25 saves in the win. Lakers’ junior Olivia Guck stopped 24 shots.
