Bobby Lashley Says Superstars Don't Need To Be On A Brand For Long To Care About Brand Supremacy

Bobby Lashley says the length of time spent on any particular brand doesn't matter because it's all about the here and now and the loyalty is to your present and your future.

Since 2016, WWE Survivor Series has been the one night a year where Raw and SmackDown come together to collide in an all-night clash specifically to establish brand supremacy.

In recent years, Survivor Series has come directly following the WWE Draft which has led to some Superstars fighting for brand supremacy on a brand that they have spent less than two months apart of. As such, there are those that question whether or not the fight for brand supremacy makes any sense.

Bobby Lashley is one of the representatives on the Monday Night Raw side of things that has actually spent the last three years as part of Monday Night Raw. Last year he was the reigning United States Champion and ran through Sami Zayn, SmackDown's Intercontinental Champion at the time, and this year, he spent the bulk of the year on top of Monday Night Raw as the WWE Champion.

Now, in a new interview with Josh Martinez of Z100, Bobby Lashley is opening up about how he feels, as one of the tenured members of the Monday Night Raw roster, about others just joining the brand and having to try and fight to defend its superiority over Friday Night SmackDown.

Bobby says that he doesn't care and he doesn't think the other wrestlers do either because it's all about the future and where you are right now, regardless of how much time you have spent on any particular brand.

"I think everybody — since they made the changes, they're going to be battling for where they're at right now. I mean, Seth was on Raw before he was on SmackDown, and he's back on Raw. So there's no loyalty to where you used to be. The loyalty is to where you are right now. Because after the Survivor Series this Sunday, it's right back to being [on] our show. So we need those bragging rights and wherever you're at right now, that's where you're going to be fighting for. That's where you're going to be talking trash after it's all over."

Bobby Lashley wasn't even originally scheduled to be on the team and he only replaced Dominik Mysterio after defeating him on Monday Night Raw. Rey Mysterio was also replaced after suffering a loss to Bobby Lashley this week. Learn more about that here.
