Sometimes an update is meant to just fix a relatively small thing, and not bring a whole suite of new features to the mix. Today is one of those days. Apple on Wednesday released a minor software update for iOS 15.1, which is designed to help reduce dropped calls in some iPhone models.
Apparently there has been an issue with dropped calls in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lineup. Apple is looking to fix that for the folks out there in the wild who have been running into what’s probably a pretty annoying issue. The company has officially released iOS 15.1.1 to the public as a free update. It’s available to download and install now.
It’s worth noting right here that the update is primarily meant for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lineups. Apple’s changelog for the update is pretty straightforward:
iOS 15.1.1 improves call drop performance on iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models.
And that’s it! Nothing else to go on, even if the software does tweak or otherwise improve additional things behind the scenes.
This update should help those with an iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and/or the iPhone 13 Pro Max if they’ve been experiencing an influx of dropped calls. Performance should be improved after installing iOS 15.1.1.
