The planets came into alignment back on the night of September 18th when Circles Around The Sun the stage at Red Rocks Amphitheatre for the first time ever to open up for Greensky Bluegrass. Today, Live For Live Music is excited to premiere some multi-camera live footage of the instrumental quartet performing “Babyman” for a sold-out crowd at the famed Morrison, CO venue.

“Babyman”, the infectious dance groove comes from the band’s 2020 self-titled album, served as the final song from the band’s opening set. The song begins with a drum machine, creating some satisfying juxtaposition between the mechanized beat and Mark Levy‘s lively drumming. Keyboardist Adam MacDougall soon chimes in on the agogô bells as the track kicks into gear.

Newly initiated guitarist John Lee Shannon makes his presence felt as he explodes out of the backbeat, rising above the dancetrumental pocket. Meanwhile, an array of disco balls captures the light reflecting off the glow of the Colorado crowd. All the while, the four members of seem to defy the vast size of the Red Rocks stage, facilitating optimal improvisational groupthink as they huddle close together.
