The Boston Celtics are sitting at .500 and have a chance to own a winning record for the first time in 2021-22 with a road matchup against the Atlanta Hawks on tap tonight.

Boston will aim to take their second straight victory away from the TD Garden as the Philips Arena hosts a matchup between two teams currently competing for a low postseason spot, separated by just a game and a half in the standings.

Hardwood Houdini is here to dish out the odds, TV streaming options, and predicts a winner tonight in Atlanta.

Let’s get to it.

Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks odds, spread, over/under:

According to WynnBet, the Celtics are 4-point underdogs on the road against the Hawks on Wednesday night. Boston is a +160 moneyline underdog while the Hawks are a -180 moneyline favorite. The over/under for the game has been placed at 215.5 points.

Like Boston, Atlanta is coming off a win Monday night. The night before, they had knocked off the Milwaukee Bucks in an Eastern Conference finals rematch at home. This is the third game of a five-game Hawks homestand. This will be the final game of a three-game stint on the road for the Celtics ahead of hosting the Los Angeles Lakers at home on Friday night. L.A. is expecting LeBron James to be back in the lineup.

Despite the potential intrigue, this is not a nationally televised game. In-market fans can watch the game on NBC Sports Boston or Bally Sports Southeast.

Celtics vs. Hawks prediction

Both teams could be missing starters, though the level of worry each team has about it should vary. For the Cs, Robert Williams is questionable with left knee soreness while Kevin Huerter is questionable with a hamstring issue.

Huerter’s injury could be more troublesome long-term, but losing him this game wouldn’t hurt his much considering the Hawks’ bench has depth at the guard spots. Trae Young, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Cam Reddish, Delon Wright, and Lou Williams could all soak up minutes in the backcourt.

Williams being absent would force the Cs to potentially pivot to small-ball, asking Al Horford to man the center spot with Enes Kanter and Grant Williams also getting minutes at the 5. The ‘Time Lord’ is a critical rim-protecting component of the C’s defense and gives the team easy buckets at the rim.

While I won’t call the potential loss of Williams a death knell for the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night, I will avoid the plus money and four points that Atlanta is laying and opt for the over.
