A community artist and a group of kids from Partnership 4 Kids came together to create a mural to represent unique perspectives of diversity, equity, and inclusion, according to a press release from Partnership 4 Kids.
The artist, David Koening, helped put together the mural which features 20 interpretations of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The interpretations "cohesively fuse together to form a larger image of the mighty peregrine falcon, the fastest animal on earth and the hotel’s talisman. It is a powerful representation of the strength and beauty that results from embracing diverse perspectives," said the press release.
The mural, "Student Voices for Social Justice," will be on display in the lobby of the Peregrine Hotel, 203 S 18th St.
An unveiling ceremony will take place on November 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the hotel.
“It is an honor for The Peregrine Omaha to connect with the students from Partnership 4 Kids to elevate their voices for social justice through the medium of visual art," David Scott, the Peregrine Hotel General Manager, said. “We have witnessed the positive impact this project has had on the students, hotel guests and team members and hope to continue our collaboration.”
