F1 legend Fernando Alonso reacts to Lewis Hamilton's victory in the Brazilian Grand Prix, despite starting the race from P10.

Hamilton suffered some hefty penalties after getting a new engine before the start of the Brazilian GP, prompting fans to expect a victory from either Valtteri Bottas in pole position or Max Verstappen starting from P2.

To everyone's surprise, neither of them won. Instead, Hamilton showcased a remarkable performance, outlasting everyone else on the grid.

“Obviously, I was surprised. I mean, everyone is surprised,” Alonso told media, including RacingNews365.com.

“There is one guy that had a 25-place penalty in the weekend and still won the race! So their superiority on this weekend was outstanding.”

However, Alonso seems to hint that Mercedes' dominance in F1 has become a norm in the sport.

“It is the way it is, but you know, this is not new in Formula 1. They've been winning the last seven championships with their superiority and it is the way it is.

“It's up to us, the other teams, to catch up, to improve our package, our engine, our aerodynamics…”

With just three races to go, Hamilton seems to be motivated, searching for his eighth F1 title, despite trailing Max Verstappen by 14 points. Meanwhile, Mercedes as a team is looking terrific this late into the season, maintaining their searing pace and an 11-point lead in the constructor standings.

Will Verstappen hold on to win his first F1 crown, or will Hamilton bag his eighth?
