Riot continues to build its League of Legends and Runeterra universe. First with the smashing hit Netflix series Arcane, then with this week's release of Hextech Mayhem and Ruined King through the Riot Forge label. Now the video game company just announced two more League-inspired games—The Song of Nunu and CONV/RGENCE—set to hit shelves in 2022 across a variety of platforms. Here's what we know so far about the two games, their release date, storylines, and mechanics.

Riot Forge's premiere titles, Hextech Mayhem and Ruined King, both have very different gameplay and characters or storylines that they focus on. Hextech features the yordle Ziggs (and Heimerdinger), while Ruined King revolves around Viego and is set in Bilgewater. Arcane meanwhile explores Piltover characters.

Song of Nunu and CONV/RGENCE: What we know so far

Now the next two games will also be showcasing other League champions, with Song of Nunu focusing on the titular champion Nunu from the Freljord realm, whereas CONV/RGENCE highlights Ekko from the world of Zaun. In 2022, both titles will be arriving on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Riot hasn't revealed a specific release date yet, so watch this space for updates in the near future.

In Song of Nunu, players follow the story of Nunu as he searches for his mother across an unforgiving frozen tundra. Nunu plays a magical flute and can make the environment respond to his song. Aboard Willump, players encounter various League characters across Freljord, climbing up ice pillars and scampering away as cliffs of ice collapse in this narrative-driven adventure.

On the other hand, CONV/RGENCE is a 2D side-scrolling action platformer with a unique mechanic called Zero Drive to rewind time and solve different segments of the game. Players control Ekko as he battles his way through the polluted city of Zaun, swinging his bat (it's actually a stolen clock hand) through enemies' health bars. A mix of jumping through platforms and engaging in combat, CONV/RGENCE gives players a chance to save Zaun—and use Ekko's time-winding abilities to the fullest.

Another League of Legends game could also be coming

Riot Forge has so far dropped two titles, and just now confirmed two more on the way. But get excited about this, because another League of Legends game is also in the works. On Tuesday, the Riot Forge Showcase Nintendo Direct teased a League-inspired game set in Demacia, with a beacon of light coming from the said region on the Runeterra map shown to audiences.

This would continue with the theme of exploring the different worlds of Runeterra and could potentially feature the likes of Jarvan, Vayne, Sylas, and Kayle. However, no other details were revealed just yet, so fans will have to wait and see which champion's backstory gets featured next.
