What will The Witcher 2 season 2 be all about?

We know when it’s coming, but what will The Witcher Season 2 be all about?

The end of the first season saw the title character, the “Witcher” (monster hunter) Geralt of Rivia finally meetan the woman he’s destined to protect and mentor, the deposited princess Cirilla (played by Freya Allan). The second season will show Geralt and Ciri together as Geralt takes her to his childhood home of Kaer Morhen.
Meanwhile, the first season’s other major character, the sorceress Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) fought against the Nilfgaardian army at the Battle of Sodden Hill at the end of the first season, only to disappear. It now looks like she’s now a prisoner of the Nilfgaardian mage Fringilla. What will happen to her, and will she reunite with Geralt again?.

You can also expect to see some more returning characters for season 2, including everyone’s favorite singing bard Jaskier (Joey Batey). We can also expect to see some new characters, including Dijkstra, played by Outlander’s Graham McTavish. Another new character is Nivellen, played by Kristofer Hivju, best known for his role as Tormund Giantsbane in another major fantasy series, Game of Thrones.

What’s this talk about spin-offs?

Netflix is wasting no time expanding The Witcher into a number of different projects to expand its universe.

One of the spin-offs, the animated feature film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, is already available to stream on the service. It’s a prequel centering on Geralt’s mentor Vesemir. A second anime movie is in the works, as is an animated series for a younger audience. Finally, there’s The Witcher: Blood Origin, a live-action series set over 1,000 years before the main series. It will show the origins of The Witchers. It’s currently filming and could debut on Netflix in 2022.
