The Chicago Bulls are a very good team right now. After sweeping both games in Los Angeles, they are 10-4 on the season. They have had different people step up in every game, but this year’s offseason is a big reason they are so good. The organization has done so well with bringing in the perfect pieces to help them win.

They currently have a big three that are as productive as any in the sport right now. Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan are both additions made this summer and Zach LaVine had a breakout season last year. The three of them combined for 91 points against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, which was the latest example of their dominance.

It doesn’t have to end there though. Another player could easily take them from being a good big three to a good big four. That player is Nikola Vucevic. Chicago traded for him last season and he was awesome down the stretch but the Bulls didn’t make it to the postseason.

This year, Vucevic has gotten off to a slow start. He was just starting to get his rhythm back, however, before testing positive for COVID-19. It would be really nice for the Bulls if he can get back and be the Vucevic that we know he is capable of being. With Patrick Williams out for a long time, this team needs it.

The Chicago Bulls need their best players to be their best players in order to win.

It is nice to have that highly productive big three but if Vucevic does in fact make it a big four, things will go nicely for the rest of the season as long as they stay healthy. This could be a team that makes a deep postseason run if everything goes their way.

The organization deserves a lot of credit for this. Three of the potential big four were not on the team at the start of last season. They have done a great job of building this thing from pretty much nothing besides Zach LaVine. His development, combined with the new divisions, is why the Bulls appear to be an Eastern Conference power right now.

Of course, the bench deserves some credit too. We know which players are going to be the most impactful and they are the ones already mentioned but they need help from everyone. The best player outside of those four so far has been Alex Caruso. Coming over from the Los Angeles Lakers this summer, he has been everything the Bulls expected and more so far.

They have also received some help from a player like Ayo Dosunmu. As a second-round pick out of Illinois, he has been magnificent. Ayo appears to be someone that will go down as a draft steal as it looks like a really nice NBA career is ahead of him.

If the top players on the team and the bench can continue this awesome play, then 2021-22 is going to be a season to remember. They are all back in action tonight when they take on the Portland Trail Blazers
