Real Madrid: Grading the 2021-22 loanees so far this season
In total, Real Madrid have loaned out eight players in the 2021-2022 season, with six of them being notable names who could either have a first-team future or be sold for a tidy profit. Los Blancos may still add to that list with Andriy Lunin generating interest, Luka Jovic now open to another winter loan, and Antonio Blanco in need of minutes.
But as it stands right now, there are six players to grade who are out on loan. With the November international fixtures nearly over and Granada on the horizon this weekend, let’s take a look at how the loanees are getting along thus far.
CB Victor Chust
We begin with Victor Chust, who was loaned to Cadiz amidst interest from them and another La Liga club, Real Betis. Chust was solid last season in central defense when called into action due to injuries, and he could have been the fourth center back this year. But since nobody wanted Jesus Vallejo, Real had to keep Vallejo and find a new spot for Chust, who has more of a future than the former loanee to Wolverhampton.
So far this season, Chust has made five starts and played 460 minutes in La Liga for last year’s promoted side. The 21-year-old is averaging 3.7 clearances per game and is being dribbled past just 0.1 times per game.
Clearly, Chust has potential. It’s just hard to tell where he stands at Cadiz right now. Though he had a strong performance against Barcelona, we still need more minutes to see if Chust is going places at Cadiz. Evaluating any young player takes time, but especially a young center back in his first starting situation as a professional.

AM Reinier Jesus
Reinier Jesus honestly needs a new loan. I would not anticipate Dortmund letting the Brazilian attacking midfielder go for free, but the man is just not getting anything. Even a new manager, Marco Rose, has not changed the ex-Flamengo prospect’s fortunes. Reinier barely plays. Let’s just get this one out of the way and give the rating a 0. Not for Reiner’s performances, but for the way the loan has worked out.
