Mayor of Kingstown, Marvel star Jeremy Renner's new series, has bagged the biggest premiere on Paramount+ to date since the service's rebranding from CBS All Access.
During its Sunday night debut (November 14) in the US, which was simulcast on cable as a means of promotion, the crime thriller reportedly pulled in 2.6 million viewers linearly – and many more digitally.
The numbers make it Paramount Network's most-watched scripted premiere since the launch of Yellowstone in 2018.
Co-created by Hell or High Water writer Taylor Sheridan and Yellowstone's Hugh Dillon, the show follows the McLuskys, a family of power brokers living in the titular Michigan town, where the business of incarceration is a pretty lucrative one.

Renner plays Mike McLusky, the man occupying the titular position, while Dillon, Friday Night Lights' Kyle Chandler, and NCIS: New Orleans actor Derek Webster portray Ian Ferguson, Mitch McLusky and police officer Stevie respectively.
Tackling hard-hitting themes such as systemic racism, police corruption and the struggle for equality, it also stars Emma Laird (as dancer Iris), Taylor Handley and I Care a Lot's Dianne Wiest – the latter of whom plays matriarch Miriam.
Pha'rez Lass, Tobi Bamtefa, Hamish Allan-Headley and Game of Thrones' Aiden Gillen round out the cast.

"In addition, Sunday's special simulcast event on the Paramount Network is cable's biggest new scripted premiere with total viewers since the launch of Yellowstone in 2018, and is already exceeding it in key demos (P18-49 and P25-54); further proving that Mayor of Kingstown is just getting started with lots of room to grow as it moves exclusively to Paramount+."
