United Plugins Launches Quick AG FREE Edition

0

United Plugins has released an update to their Quick AG plugin that adds a FREE second-hand edition with a few limitations. Simply head to their website and download Quick AG version 2.3 to get started.

The 15-day trial is fully functional, allowing you to test the software to its limits and create presets. After that, the free second-hand mode will restrict you from tweaking some knobs, but the presets work perfectly.

So you can use the first 15 days to create presets that you love and then continue using those for free!

Quick AG, as the name suggests, is designed to help mix acoustic guitars nearly instantly. This speed does not come at the cost of quality, as the plugin has everything you need for the job.

You can select the instrument you want to mix from among the following types of guitars:

  • Acoustic
  • Baritone
  • Classic
  • Spanish
  • Ukulele
  • Mandolin

The instrument selection changes EQ settings, which you can observe in your DAW. There are also 4 independent EQ settings, namely Low Cut, Body, De-Harsh, and Spark.

Including the EQ section, there are a total of 4 different editors in this plugin. You can bypass each editor with a switch if you don’t need all of them for a particular project.

The Reverb section is powerful enough to be a standalone plugin. Along with the Wet/Dry and length settings, there are three different room sizes to choose from – Room, Hall, and Plate, or you can set in between them as well.

The Compressor section is similar in layout to the Reverb. It has 2 basic settings, Amount and Length, and 1 unique option. You can switch compression style from Fet, Vari-Mu, and Clean or choose something in between to fit your sound.

Last but not least, you have the Xtra section with Transient, Doubler, and Width settings. The Doubler makes your guitar sound like it is coming from 2 sources, and the Width controls how far apart the 2 sources are in the stereo field.

Transient is a very atypical setting that can make the nuances of your picking blossom out of a busy mix. You can use it sparingly to shape the attack or make drastic changes to your acoustic instrument.

Here’s a quick video demo by United Plugins:

Quick AG is available in the VST2/VST3/AU/AAX formats, so it works on both Windows and macOS. And the download size for this is just 19 MB.

Overall, this handy little plugin will make the tiring job of mixing acoustic instruments a breeze. It’s easy to use, super versatile, and the free edition is a boon. If you like the plugin, you can get the full version for just €50 right now (retail price €99)!
