261ds agoToday, six schools in Brooklyn and three schools in the Bronx will be offering the children’s COVID-19 vaccine. This is coming as New York City officials are preparing to have the second dose available for kids by the end of this month.
As of Wednesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio said 74,000 kids between 5 and 11 years old have their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Another 414,000 kids between 12 and 17 years old have had their first dose.
The mayor adds there is a $100 incentive on the table for anyone who gets the vaccine at a city-run site and kids are eligible.
Starting Friday and going into next week, the mayor says that charter schools will be the focus of the next children’s vaccine initiative. Locations and times are still to be determined. For a full list of current schools offering the vaccine, click here.
