NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are three games scheduled for Wednesday.

Forwards:

Patrick Kane (Chicago) – W - $8,800 FanDuel, $7,800 DraftKings, $32 Yahoo

Kane has been on a roll with at least a point in three straight games and six of his last seven contests. That gives him five goals and 15 points in 11 contests this season. He’s an expensive option, but as long as he’s hot, he’s worth it.

Nazem Kadri (Colorado) – C - $5,900 FanDuel, $5,100 DraftKings, $18 Yahoo

Kadri is red hot, recording at least a point in each of his last six contests. He has three goals and 10 points over that span. Given his pretty modest price, he’s well worth the risk.

Jordan Eberle (Seattle) – W - $5,800 FanDuel, $5,200 DraftKings, $17 Yahoo

Eberle is going into Wednesday’s contest on a five-game point streak. Thanks to that he’s up to eight goals and 12 points in 15 games in 2021-22. The Kraken have leaned heavily on him as evidenced by his average of 18:44 minutes and he’s responded well to the extra work.

Bargain Bin: Tom Wilson (WAS) - $5,700 FanDuel/$5,300 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Andre Burakovsky (COL) - $5,000 FanDuel/$4,700 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Nils Hoglander (VAN) - $4,600 FanDuel/$3,500 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Adrian Kempe (LAK) - $4,500 FanDuel/$4,000 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Alex Wennberg (SEA) - $4,200 FanDuel/$3,400 DraftKings/$16 Yahoo

Defensemen:

Seth Jones (Chicago) - $7,100 FanDuel, $6,900 DraftKings, $19 Yahoo

Jones is someone I’ve recommended often this season, but he’s given me reason to. Jones has contributed at least a point in 12 of his first 15 contests and is on a six-game point streak. He’s scored a goal and 13 points this season.

John Carlson (Washington) - $6,400 FanDuel, $6,700 DraftKings, $21 Yahoo

Carlson stayed hot on Tuesday by contributing two assists in a 3-2 overtime loss to Anaheim. After a bit of a slow start to the season by his high standards, he has two goals and nine points in his last nine games.

Bargain Bin: Quinn Hughes (VAN) - $6,300 FanDuel/$5,400 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Samuel Girard (COL) - $4,700 FanDuel/$3,800 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Dmitry Orlov (WAS) - $3,900 FanDuel/$4,400 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo

Goaltenders:

Darcy Kuemper (Colorado) - $8,600 FanDuel, $8,100 DraftKings, $29 Yahoo

Kuemper got off to a rocky start with the Avalanche, posting a 2-2-0 record, 3.51 GAA, and .894 save percentage in four starts. Fortunately for the Avalanche and Kuemper though, he’s since settled down. From Oct. 26 onwards, he has a 4-2-0 record, 2.01 GAA, and .929 save percentage in six starts. He’ll be going for his third straight win tonight.

Bargain Bin: Marc-Andre Fleury (CHI) - $7,600 FanDuel/$7,500 DraftKings/$23 Yahoo, Jonathan Quick (LAK) - $7,200 FanDuel/$7,600 DraftKings/$28 Yahoo
