Developer Ska Studios has offered up a fresh look at some gameplay from its upcoming Souls-inspired platformer Salt and Sacrifice.

Creator James Silva takes us through a few minutes of the game, which sees you play as a marked Inqusitor. They’re a prisoner trying to earn their freedom by hunting Mages, corrupted souls who harness the power of elemental energy.

One of the new features this time around include Mage Hunts. They’re said to be multi-stage pursuits that have you chase a creature to different areas of the world. Once you’ve tracked them down, these Hunts cumulate in a very tough boss battle you’ll need all your skill to endure.

Once you’ve taken them down, they’ll drop a bunch of materials you can use to craft new equipment and armour. The video also shows off a little of the game’s multiplayer too, where you’ll use a Pale Candle to join the world of another player. You can then team up to take on the threats on their world, and take on more bosses. If that doesn’t take your fancy, the game will also feature PvP if you’re of less of a jolly co-operation mindset.
