Matthew Stafford Disintegrates In Games That Matter Most

After losing to the 49ers 31-10 on Monday night, Chris Broussard and Rob Parker share their thoughts on if Matthew Stafford is the quarterback he's been made out to be, and if the Rams should still be favored to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Chris Broussard: "He's an upgrade, but how much of an upgrade is the question...One of my big questions about Stafford, was that he's played obviously the bulk of his career in Detroit...outside of the pressure of being the high draft pick that he was early in his career, he hasn't played under a lot of pressure. He hasn't played under the expectations. He hasn't played in a lot of big games, the three playoff games he's played in they lost all of them, he wasn't great. But now you are under the spotlight, you're under scrutiny every single game. People were saying you were going to be the MVP. Pressure, expectations, and that only increased when they started 7-1 and he was arguably the front-runner for the MVP...I don't know if it's a coincidence that in his last two games four picks, and two pick six's.

Rob Parker: "This is who Matthew Stafford is...He doesn't perform against the better teams and in the big games...The Rams are not going to the Super Bowl. They're not physical, this isn't the shutdown defense that they had a year ago, and Matthew Stafford has disintegrated when the games have mattered most.
