Developers participating in the iOS 15.2 beta program are now able to download beta 3, featuring incremental upgrades and minor bugfixes.

Apple recently rolled out the iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2 Beta 3 to users with developer accounts, alongside a new watchOS 8.3 beta. iOS 15.2 beta 3 is a very minor update with no new features per se, though it comes with a number of bugfixes.

The previous two iOS 15.2 betas did bring a handful of new features to the table. Beta 2 introduced a communication safety feature for iMessage. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled by guardians to protect minor users from receiving pictures and videos that feature nudity. Beta 2 also introduced an easier way for iCloud+ users to use "Hide My Email" functionality straight from the Mail app, instead of iCloud settings. Hide My Email allows users to share alias emails with websites that then forward messages to their primary email for added privacy.

Beta 1 introduced iOS 15.2's most significant feature, the App Privacy Report. This new feature gives users detailed insights into how each app is using iPhone sensors and data, as well as any servers they may be accessing, making it easier to pinpoint spyware and other unwanted software.

iOS 15.2 still doesn't have an official public release date. However, we expect that regular iPhone and iPad users will be able to get their hands on the new OS iteration by early next year at latest.
