Real Madrid currently in ongoing ‘contacts’ to sign Kylian Mbappe

It has officially begun. Real Madrid have now started working towards completing Mbappe’s signing. As reported earlier by MadridistaReal, Real Madrid will close the signing of Kylian Mbappe in the first month of 2022, but it won’t be announced until after the season is over.

Now, on Tuesday, Fabrizio Romano, on his Here We Go podcast, talked about a bunch of things related to Real Madrid. He talked about Real wanting to extend Luka Modric’s contract till 2023, and Modric wants the same thing.

But, he also talked about something bigger. He mentioned that Real Madrid are currently in ongoing ‘contacts’ to sign Kylian Mbappe as a free agent next summer.

He mentioned in the podcast that they’re working in silence because they want things to calm down a little between them and PSG, especially considering how the French club’s sporting director Leonardo Araujo got a bit angry at the way things were being managed by Real Madrid regarding the potential signing of Kylian Mbappe. It was a bit unjust, in my opinion, but what can we do?

According to the journalist, if there aren’t many news reports going around about rumors of Mbappe joining Real Madrid, it’s because Los Blancos want it to be like that as a way to calm things down. The Italian journalist also mentions in the podcast that PSG will fight till the last second, and try to convince him to sign an extension with the French club. I think that things are looking very tough for PSG, and each passing day makes it more and more difficult for them to pull it off.

All of this is also around the time when President Florentino Perez was asked about what went down in the summer of 2021 regarding the offer for Mbappe. Via Ramon Alvarez, the club offered PSG around 200 million Euros in the summer for Mbappe, but they did not want to sell. He also mentioned that it’s a lot easier to buy players who are nearing the end of their respective contracts rather than going for someone that has many years left. It is very important for Real to get this deal done as soon as possible so that they are able to focus on other signings.
