KANSAS CITY - Patrick Mahomes is Texas through and through! Right down to bringing Whataburger to Chiefs Kingdom!
The Whataburger opened its doors at 11 a.m., and by 11:03 a.m., the Kansas City District of Missouri Department of Transportation Tweeted a video of a line of cars down the street.
People lined up in the drive-thru line around 6 a.m. The local police department even sent out a statement to the city, warning residents to expect traffic delays.
At the time, the Super Bowl MVP and Kansas City Chiefs player, Patrick Mahomes said in a news conference that his favorite brand of ketchup was served at Whataburger.
KMO Burger, an investor-led franchise group that includes Mahomes announced in August it plans to open 30 franchisee-owned restaurants in the Kansas City area over the next seven years.
Fast forward three years and Mahomes is part of a group that will operate those 30 locations in and around Kansas City.
