Samsung starts rolling out One UI 4 update for its Galaxy S21 series

If you’re a Samsung Galaxy S21 series owner, you’ll be happy to hear that not too long after Google officially released the Android 12 update, Samsung has followed suit. The company has announced the release of One UI 4 which is based on Android 12 that the company has been testing for the past few weeks.

The rollout has officially begun but don’t expect to receive it right away as it will be a staggered release, but you should be able to expect it in the coming weeks.

According to Samsung’s announcement, aside from the usual host of features and changes we can expect from Android 12, the company has also announced changes to One UI. We’re talking about a bunch of new color palettes that users can choose from to theme their phones to their own personal tastes and liking.

The company has also reworked its widgets that can offer deeper customization, along with a bunch of stickers, GIFs, and emojis that can be quickly accessed from the keyboard.

Samsung is also beefing up the privacy of their phones where they’ll give users more options when it comes to choosing what kind of information they want to share, and what information they don’t. There will also be alerts and indicators when an app attempts to access features like your phone’s camera and microphone.

The update will be rolled out initially to the Galaxy S21 lineup, but the company says that it will also eventually make its way onto eligible older Galaxy S-series phones, Galaxy Note-series, and also the Galaxy A-series.
