As the investigation of Alec Baldwin’s accidental shooting and murder on the set of Rust continues, more and more celebrities continue to speak out.

The latest one, being George Clooney.

According to the New York Post, the famed actor told Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast that the accidental shooting and killing of cinemaphotographer Halyna Hutchins was “infuriating” and “insane,” stating that it was a result of horrible and stupid mistakes.

He said:

“Maybe they weren’t even using that gun to do target practice, but they had live ammo with dummies. All this shit we’ve been seeing with all the Alec Baldwin stuff.

And that is insane. It’s insane. And it’s infuriating.”

He then said he’s never seen a situation like this over his 40-year career:

“First of all, I’ve never heard the term ‘cold gun.’ I’ve never heard that term. Literally, they’re just talking about stuff I’ve never heard of. It’s just infuriating.

Every single time I’m handed a gun on a set, every time, they hand me a gun, I look at it, I open it, I show it to the person I’m pointing it to, we show it to the crew.

Everybody does it, everybody knows… maybe Alec did that, hopefully he did do that.”

He then pointed the fingers at cheap budgets, saying an inexperienced person should never be left in that kind of situation by themselves before they’re ready:

“It’s a terrible accident. But the 24-year-old person with that little experience shouldn’t be heading up a department with guns and bullets on it.

And so it comes down to, we need to be better at making sure that the heads of our department are… experienced and know what they’re doing.

Because this is… I’ve just never, you know– it’s just infuriating.”

Nobody has been charged yet who were present on the scene of Rust, but Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies also stated that nobody has been ruled out, including Baldwin.

Alec recently shared a tweet stating that all sets should have a police officer on set to monitor weapoins safety.
