Emre Can and Mahmoud Dahoud both returned to team training on Tuesday as Borussia Dortmund stepped up their preparations for this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against VfB Stuttgart.

Borussia Dortmund have received another boost ahead of their game against VfB Stuttgart, with Emre Can and Mahmoud Dahoud both back in team training. Both players took part in parts of team training on Tuesday, and the hope will now be that they can be fit for this weekend’s Bundesliga home game against VfB Stuttgart, or next week’s trip to Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League.

Raphael Guerreiro also took part in Tuesday’s session and is likely to be fully fit in time for Saturday’s game. Marco Reus and Manuel Akanji also trained with the team on Tuesday after returning home early from international duty.

Reus was rested for Germany’s game against Armenia on Sunday by head coach Hansi Flick, while Akanji missed Switzerland’s World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria on Monday due to suspension. The remaining players on international duty will likely return to training in the coming days.

One player who is a small doubt for Saturday’s game is Gregor Kobel. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Borussia Dortmund’s first choice goalkeeper trained individually on Monday. So at the moment it remains to be seen if he will be able to face his former club this weekend.

Erling Haaland and Gio Reyna remain sidelined for now. And it is also unclear when Nico Schulz and Marius Wolf will be able to return to training.
