Zach Wilson could hardly contain himself after girlfriend Abbey Gile’s latest Instagram post.
On Monday, the Jets quarterback’s girlfriend posted a pair of photos on Instagram promoting the women’s clothing store, Böhme. And while Gile’s post racked up a slew of likes and comments, including a sweet message from Wilson’s mother, Lisa, the NFL rookie shared the images with his fans as well.
“Stunning,” Wilson wrote Monday on his Instagram Story, along with the “sweating” face emoji.
Wilson, 22, and Gile, who both hail from Utah, have been linked since they were teens. Back in April, when Wilson was selected second overall by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft, Gile celebrated with the quarterback and his family in Cleveland.
“Still can’t wrap my head around this moment. Feeling so blessed to have been a part of his journey since high school. Zach has worked so hard to be here and he made his dream reality,” Gile wrote on Instagram in April. “Nobody loves the game like this boy and he’s going to give everything he can to New York. I guess all the date nights watching film were for something😉 I love this boy! JETS BABYYYY!💚”
Wilson’s first year with the Jets (2-6) has been something of a rollercoaster, with the BYU product logging four touchdowns and nine interceptions this season.
During a Week 7 loss to the Patriots, Wilson sprained the PCL in his right knee, paving the way for Mike White, a former fifth-round draft pick, to take over. Despite a storybook win against the Bengals in Week 8, White came crashing back down to earth in a crushing loss to the Bills on Sunday.
As of Monday, however, Jets coach Robert Saleh has not named a starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins.
Regardless of whether or not he gets the start, Wilson will have the support from Gile, who has continuously celebrated his NFL milestones so far.
