Sidelined UFC star Conor McGregor crossed paths with MMA legend Chael Sonnen on social media.

One thing Conor McGregor will remembered for apart from his electrifying UFC fights is his next-level trash-talk game. And when he gets poked by another legendary trash-talker like Chael Sonnen, fans will surely be in for a treat.

That is exactly what just happened Monday after former UFC title contender Sonnen hit out at McGregor on Twitter.

“It's not too late to stay off my radar,” Sonnen tweeted of McGregor.

“Just put down the shot-glass of awful bottom-shelf whiskey, turn off your phone, and back outta the big-boy saloon niiiice n' sloooow,” he continued.

As expected, it did not take long before McGregor fires back with a witty dig of his own.

“Just set up the tripod, in the corner of your boxroom, and tell your 2 views the promo code for the window sheen,” the former UFC two-division champ replied.

Sonnen proved that McGregor's insults did not faze him one bit and answered back with, “Oh; And leave a nice heartfelt apology on the table as you exit.”

Evidently entertained with his short back-and-fourth with the UFC legend, McGregor then sealed it with a more peaceful closing statement and acknowledged Sonnen's advice saying it was “a nice tip.” But unsurprisingly, “The Notorious” did not apologize about anything of course.

Both McGregor and Sonnen are inactive at the moment and since the latter is already officially retired, it is very unlikely that a fight between the two will ever be considered, at least for now.
