Janette Manrara has rubbished speculation that husband Aljaž Škorjanec could be leaving Strictly Come Dancing.

The dancer raised concern over the weekend after he and celebrity partner Sara Davies were eliminated, giving an emotional speech that some interpreted to be a final goodbye to the show.

However, appearing today (November 16) on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Radio 2, Janette confirmed that Aljaž is very much "not leaving".

"I'm going to like, put an end to the rumours, it's not happening," said It Takes Two and Strictly arena tour host Janette. "He's too in love with the show, he's too in love with the show.

"I think he was just so happy with Sara and they just created such an amazing bond, an amazing friendship," she added.

"He fell in love going up to Newcastle and being with her family and meeting everybody up there, up north. So I think he was just gutted that the series ended for him.

"But, you know, we are friends with her, I told her she is stuck with us forever, she has no choice."

Aljaž and Sara clearly formed a strong bond, with the Dragons' Den star paying tribute on It Takes Two last night, admitting of what she'll do going forward: "Do you know what? I woke up this morning and I was just lost.

"I was! I just usually have a little routine... The alarm goes off at 5 o'clock, check my Instagram Stories and [Aljaž] puts a little post and I'm like, 'Oh, he's woke up!'

"Then we meet at our little studio where we had our own set of keys and then I'd let us in and [Aljaž] would make us coffees and I'd turn the glitterball on, even though we really didn't need a glitterball at 6 o'clock in the morning," she added.

"But it just got us in the mood! Those first few hours in the morning before the VT teams would turn up, it would just be us and we'd have this intense learning. It was just wonderful."

Strictly Come Dancing 2021 airs on Saturday nights on BBC One, with results shows every Sunday. Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
