SUCKER FOR LOVE: FIRST DATE Announces Its Voice Cast

Sucker for Love: First Date is based on a microgame of the same name that was made in 10 days. This updated version really expands the game into a stand alone. In this Lovecraftian dating sim, try to win the heart of one of three Eldritch Goddesses: Ln’eta (Cthulhu), Estir (Hastur), and Nyanlathotep (Nyarlathotep). The three voice actresses lending their talent to bring these characters to life are  Michaela Laws (World War Blue), Kayli Mills (Sword Art Online), and Lani Mainella (Rouge the Bat from Sonic the Hedgehog).

All three Eldritch ladies are enthralling and destructive in their own way, but as your first potential suitor, Michaela Laws’ Ln’eta may have a greater hold on your heart. Ln’eta is a loving, and bubbly force that also happens to be a beacon of utter calamity and chaos. The very act of awakening her might doom the world, but she’s also a perfect portrait of a sweet and caring partner. That is unless you attempt to betray her. It’s impossible to understate how foolish this would be.

Kayli Mills shines as Estir, the younger half sister and arch nemesis of Ln’eta. As self-proclaimed royalty, Estir tends to be bratty, prissy, fickle, and somewhat immature despite her princess complex. Mills imbues the character with an energetically chaotic aura that is sure to cause maximum heartache.

Capping off the Eldritch trio is Lani Mainella’s wonderfully intimidating Nyanlathotep. The one-eyed matriarch of this Lovecraftian family believes that humans and Eldritch horrors should not date and seeks to terrify any human who comes knocking. Mainella brings her signature wit and stylish delivery that fans of her work as Rouge the Bat in the Sonic the Hedgehog series already know and love.

Does this sound like the exact kind of game you love? You’re in luck then as this is only part one of a three part story. I’d be curious to see which other Elder Gods they decide to add to the next one, surely Yig the father of serpents will make his appearance right?

You can watch a trailer for this game below and get your own copy in December on Steam and Itch.io for Windows PC.
