Brian Tee is finally back. After a long hiatus that saw his character, Dr. Ethan Choi, nearly lose his life, Tee returned to Chicago Med in triumphant fashion. There are some complications, of course, like the character’s struggle to process the trauma of his incident, but fans are still relived to see the charismatic doctor in the mix.

Choi’s serious injuries and physical recovery is sure to provide lots of interesting subplots during the rest of the season, but there’s also been some speculation regarding Tee and his height.

Here’s a breakdown of Tee’s height in relation to the rest of the cast, and how his physicality will factor into his character’s season 7 arc.

Brian Tee height on Chicago Med

Tee might be a Chicago Med staple, but there’s actually some confusion over his height. Chicago PD Wiki and Celeb Heights Wiki list his height at 6’0″, but IMDb claim that he’s 5’11”. To make things even more confusing, Celeb Heights claims that Tee is actually 5’9″, and that he used to list himself as 5’10” on acting resumes.

We can’t say for sure which listing is accurate, but we can use the context clues of other Chicago Med actors to establish a better guess. Both Steven Weber and Nick Gehlfuss are 6’1″ and are barely taller than Tee during their scenes together, so we can safely assume that the actor is somewhere between 5’11” and 6’0″.

Tee played sports in high school and has maintained an athletic build through his roles in action films like The Wolverine (2013) and Jurassic World (2015). During an interview with Character Media, Tee revealed that acting was something he stumbled upon by accident.

"“In high school I was a jock/‘sosh’ who didn’t get very good grades (for an Asian)”, he stated. “I luckily got into California State University, Fullerton and there is where it all changed. I was skating by when I came across an elective called ‘Acting for Non-Majors.’ I felt it was an ‘easy A,’ so I quickly enrolled. The very first day of class changed my life.”"

Obviously, the enrollment paid off and the actor continues to be a familiar face on the small and big screen. We can’t wait to see where Dr. Ethan Choi goes next, and where Tee is able to take him.
