Manchester City stance for a potential Harry Kane swoop this January revealed
Manchester City made it quite obvious and clear that Harry Kane was going to be their primary target and were adamant in landing his signature. The Cityzens even made a record £125 million bid for the English superstar but their attempt was shot down by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy who was insistent on keeping ahold of his main man for the season to follow, i.e, the ongoing season.
Kane has struggled in the Premier League thus far, finding the back of the net only once in the 10 outings that he has made.

Having said that, Tottenham have found it tough to get going in front of the goal as well, notching up only 9 goals from the 11 games that they have played. If you want an indication of how poor the Spurs have been in the final third, know that they are the second-worst scoring record after Norwich City, who are currently at the bottom of the table.
With Harry Kane’s poor form, there is some consensus among the pundits that perhaps a compromise can be reached with Daniel Levy over the potential sale of the 29-year-old but journalist Dean Jones has revealed that City are unlikely to return for the English striker in January.
Manchester City gave it all, in the summer window for Harry Kane but their chase came to a rather tame end when the 29-year-old announced on Twitter that he would stay at Spurs for the ongoing season.
With Erling Haaland, 21, set to become available for €75 million next summer it is understood that City are the favorites to sign the Norweigian striker next term.

Though Haaland will be available for €75 million which is to be paid to Dortmund, the entire operation could well cost up to €120 million, taking into account the agent fee and the bonuses involved.
With Haaland set to become available next term, it does look unlikely that City would want to spend big for Harry Kane this winter.
One thing is for sure is that City’s form in front of the goal could well decide their fortunes this season but it remains to be seen whether Pep Guardiola believes that his current squad has enough goals in it to go all the way this season.
