The Pittsburgh Steelers placed safety Minkah Fitzpatrick on the COVID-19 list, the team announced Monday.

Fitzpatrick tested positive for the virus, a source told ESPN's Kimberley A. Martin.

He joins Ben Roethlisberger on the COVID-19 list. The veteran quarterback missed Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions as a result.

Fitzpatrick's availability for this week's matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers is now in some jeopardy. He's vaccinated, according to Dale Lolley of DK Pittsburgh Sports, so he can return in less than 10 days if he's asymptomatic and can produce two negative tests 24 hours apart.

The two-time All-Pro safety has been a key fixture in the Steelers' secondary since being acquired in a trade during the 2019 season. He's recorded nine interceptions in 39 games with Pittsburgh. Fitzpatrick has yet to grab an interception this season, but he does lead the team with 64 tackles.
