Wisdom, Schwindel left off both Chicago ROY ballots originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
It's not the 1-2 finish of Jerome Walton and Dwight Smith of 1989, but four and seven isn't bad for the kind of season the Cubs had.
The BBWAA announced the NL Rookie of the Year winner Monday, with Cubs infielders Patrick Wisdom (fourth) and Frank Schwindel (seventh) each receiving third-place votes. Wisdom received five to Schwindel's two.
Reds infielder Jonathan India was the runaway winner, receiving 29 of 30 first-place votes for 148 points. Miami's Trevor Rogers (86 points) and St. Louis' Dylan Carlson (22) finished second and third.

Wisdom and Schwindel were left off the ballots of both Chicago voters, NBC Sports Chicago's Gordon Wittenmyer and The Athletic's Sahadev Sharma.
“Wisdom was in my top three for most of the late summer, until Carlson’s big finish helped the Cardinals win all those games down the stretch and make the playoffs. That put him past Wisdom for me,” Wittenmyer said. “Schwindel did everything he could in two months but simply didn’t play enough games.”
Wisdom broke Kris Bryant's Cubs rookie home run record, leading all rookies this season with 28 homers. He finished third among qualified rookies with an .823 OPS — behind Schwindel and India.
Schwindel played two months with the Cubs after a post-trade deadline callup and was named NL Rookie of the Month in August and September. He hit .326/.371/.591 with 14 home runs and 43 RBIs in 64 games between the Cubs and A's, 56 with the Cubs.
