After playing in Academy for just a year, the Superstar 17 year old Mid Laner Prodigy Jojopyun has been promoted to the starting LCS Spot.
Forged from the depths of Evil, delivered to the mid lane for battle.

Jojopyun will be replacing Jiizuke on Evil Geniuses. Jiizuke played great in 2021, earning 1st Team All Pro, but his contract expired this year. Evil Geniuses have been building their brand on promoting talent within. Jojopyun along with Danny are proof of this fact. With them both on the roster, EG is proving to be the team that NA fans have wanted for years.
What to Expect:
Jojopyun is an incredibly aggressive Mid Laner. His talent to take over a lane and game earned him praise, even on a struggling Evil Geniuses Academy Roster. Jojo solo carried EGA into a few wins throughout the year and helped carry the resurgence of the team. EGA placed 10th in the Spring Split for Academy. They turned it around into a 9th place finish at Proving Grounds.
The main question is if this is an upgrade over Jiizuke. Jiizuke is a proven talent, sure, but the potential in Jojopyun is arguably higher. There is a reason every LCS GM has nothing but praise for the Mid Laner. That being said, expect some growing pains. Jojo has not been flawless in Academy. Sometimes teams have punished his aggression and with the step up to the LCS, this may be amplified. It would not be shocking to see teams try to camp Jojopyun just like they did to Jiizuke in the first couple weeks.
Jojopyun is currently signed through 2023 with Evil Geniuses. With Bjergsen, Fudge, POE and more Mid Laners in the LCS, it’s not going to be easy, but there is plenty of reasons to be bullish on Jojopyun.
