Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Roy Cropper faces an uncertain future next week as he vows to turn his back on Weatherfield forever.

Roy (David Neilson) makes his big decision after facing more police questions about Abi Webster's actions on the night of the sinkhole collapse.

Viewers recently saw Roy lie to protect Abi (Sally Carman) by making out that he didn't see her with a gun that evening. In reality, Roy had to step in to stop Abi from shooting Corey Brent, the killer of her son Seb.

Next week, the police discover that the gun used to kill Natasha Blakeman was the same one that Abi's ex Tez used in a raid several years ago.

Abi warns Roy about what's going on and he encourages her to tell the police the truth – a prospect that she isn't keen on.

Before long, DS Abney calls at the café to ask Roy more questions.

Roy then informs Abi that, yet again, he's had to lie to the police on her behalf.

Roy chooses to confide in his niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) about this mess, explaining that he must now accept some responsibility for Natasha's tragic death.

With this clearly playing on his mind, Roy asks solicitor Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) to help him sign over his flat and his business to Nina, as he no longer needs them.

He also calls at the garage to discuss selling his car as soon as possible.

Nina is baffled when she finds out what's going on, but all becomes clear when Roy announces plans to leave Weatherfield forever that night. He reveals that he's taking a job as a chef in South America.

Determined that Roy can't go, Nina summons Carla Barlow, Cathy Matthews, Brian Packham, Fiz Stape, Chesney Brown and Mary Taylor to the café, one by one.

Each of them describe how much Roy means to them, hoping this will discourage him from going.

Carla (Alison King) also plays Roy the voice message that Nina left for her, which revealed that Roy had got dragged into something against his better judgement.

Carla wants to know what this is, but Roy refuses to give any details away.

Roy tells Nina that the fact he's now lying to Carla proves that leaving is the right thing to do.

Can Nina stop Roy from leaving the area he loves?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, November 22 and Wednesday, November 24 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
