The Halo franchise has been the face of Xbox since the two launched together way back in 2001. Since then, each subsequent game has been a major improvement on the series’ formula, while pushing multiplayer shooters on consoles forward as a whole. Halo Infinite has taken a unique step for the series. For the first time, the multiplayer component will be a stand-alone, free-to-play game. Not only that, but it is going to be available on three different systems at launch: The Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and the PC. With so many options of where to play, especially when there’s no price of admission, you might be wondering where you want to play. Does Halo Infinite have cross-play?

The short and sweet answer is yes, Halo Infinite does support cross-play on all the platforms it is available on. That means you can team up with anyone playing on the original Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and PC all in the same game. There’s no barrier between you and your friends in terms of getting together to play some multiplayer fun.

However, at least for now, this only applies to the competitive multiplayer modes. As we learned earlier, Halo Infinite’s co-op campaign will not be available at launch. Once it does come, we expect to allow players on any supported system to join up in this mode as well.

Does Halo Infinite have cross-progression?

If you have multiple systems or like to switch between PC and console, you can also rest easy knowing that Halo Infinite has full cross-progression support as well. Any progress you make on one platform, such as the Xbox Series X, can be transferred over seamlessly and picked up on the PC whenever you wish. This includes your multiplayer ranking, character, and all that progress, plus your progress in the campaign when that launches as well.

After finding massive success in a limited beta, The Finals launched and instantly became one of the most popular free-to-play shooters on all platforms. Mixing the visual styling of Mirror's Edge and the destructibility of a Battlefield title, this squad-based shooter has all the ingredients to be a hit for years to come. However, there's one question that could put that future into question: Is it crossplay? Without a big enough player base, even a game like The Finals will die off since playing online is the only option. Since it has hit its full release, we can now confidently say whether or not this title has crossplay support.

Yes, The Finals supports full crossplay across all platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. You will automatically match up and play against people on all platforms, but you do have the option to limit yourself to only get matched up with people on your specific platform if you wish. This could be an advantage if you feel players on mouse and keyboard have an unfair edge over controller players, but it could make finding a game more difficult.

A shooter is only as good as its weapon selection. Without an armory stocked with fun, satisfying, and powerful guns to pick from, even a game as dynamic and unique as The Finals would grow stale. Thankfully, that isn't the case as the game launched with an impressive list of weapons to unlock and experiment with alongside its gadgets. The tricky thing about picking a "best" weapon in this game is that they are divided up between the three classes: light, medium, and heavy. That means you may have to learn to use a new weapon or adapt to a new class if you really want to play the meta. Of course, we expect balance changes and new weapons to shake this list up, but for now, these are the best weapons in The Finals.

V9s

This pistol is currently the king of light builds. Pistols usually have a reputation for being weak, but the V9S is by no means underpowered. It is a semiautomatic pistol, so you can shoot fast as long as you feel confident in your aim, and it's deadly accurate at medium and long ranges. Being so light, it will keep you mobile and out of danger for hit-and-run assaults.

Before you can jump into the spotlight and start competing in the twisted gameshow-style shooter that is The Finals, you will need to pick what type of character you will play as. While this title stands out for its fast and fluid movement and sports-style presentation, it does follow plenty of familiar trends of other competitive shooters, including multiple classes. Being focused on teams of three, it makes sense then that there are three class types to choose -- Light, Medium, and Heavy. Your choice of class not only changes up what your character looks like, but also what specialization, weapon, and gadgets you can use. Light class

Starting from the lightest and working our way up, we have the fast but squishy Light class. Your character is the most sleek and hardest to hit of the bunch, but also the lowest health to compensate. Your choice of weapons consists of pistols, an SMG, a rifle, a shotgun, and a sword, so this class requires you to get up close and personal to deal damage.
