FARINA, IL — A 25-year-old Hoyleton man was airlifted from the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 57 near the Farina exit Friday morning.

According to Illinois State police, around 7:23 a.m. Jacob Wacker was driving his SUV southbound on the interstate  when he struck the rear of a semi stopped in the same lane due to another crash. ISP says 46-year-old Michael Wilson of Plant City, Florida, refused medical treatment. Wilson was driving the tractor-trailer that Wacker rain into the rear of causing this accident.

Wacker was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
