NFL Draft 2022: Eagles’ 1st-round pick tracker | Latest on Carson Wentz, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins following Week 10

Philadelphia Eagles' general manager Howie Roseman laughs while probably thinking about the team's three first-round picks in 2022.

DENVER — When the Eagles play well, as they did in their 30-13 shellacking of the Denver Broncos on Sunday, their 2022 NFL Draft outlook tends to take a hit. But Eagles fans shouldn’t fret, as the team is still poised to control the first-round board with three potential first-round picks.

NJ Advance Media continues to track the Eagles’ first-round selections each week, as the board continues to shake out in real-time. The Eagles, Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts all won in Week 10, which means the three potential first-round picks fell down the board.

The Eagles’ pick ...

Following the Eagles’ Mile High butt-whooping of the Broncos, the team’s record turned to 4-6. The Eagles are back in the playoff picture with seven games remaining. Five of the Eagles’ seven remaining matchups are against teams with sub-500 records. Four of the Eagles’ remaining seven matchups are also at home.

That said, their annual first-round pick has fallen off a bit. According to Tankathon, the Eagles are now positioned with the No. 11 pick after having their original selection in the top-10 for the past month or so.

The Dolphins’ picks ...

The once-trusty to be turbulent Dolphins have turned things around of late. Miami has won two consecutive games, including last Thursday’s upset win over the Baltimore Ravens. With a turnaround, comes a drop in draft pick, and the Eagles are paying that price.

The Eagles acquired the Dolphins’ 2022 first-round pick in one of the most foolish trades of the past decade. The Dolphins traded back from No. 3 to No. 12 with the San Francisco 49ers, gaining a decent haul in return, only to immediately trade their 2022 first-round pick to the Eagles to move up to No. 6. The Dolphins got wideout Jaylen Waddle, and the Eagles traded up to No. 10 select DeVonta Smith, and still kept the Miami pick.

Anyway, the Dolphins, at 3-7, are currently projected to have the fifth overall selection in next year’s draft, according to Tankathon. So, as of now, the Eagles own the fifth and 11th overall picks, but could add another Day 1 pick to their haul.

Carson Wentz and the Colts’ pick ...

The Eagles are monitoring the Colts pretty heavily these days. The Colts beat the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, and QB Carson Wentz continued to play every snap, despite his wife being due to give birth at any moment.

At 5-5, the Colts are contending, which is good news for the Eagles and their hopes of receiving Indianapolis’ first-round pick. That said, with every win, that first-round pick becomes a bit less appealing.

The Eagles can obtain the Colts’ first-round pick in one of two ways:

- Wentz plays 75% of the offensive snaps this season

- Wentz plays 70% of the offensive snaps this season and the Colts make the playoffs

As of now, Wentz has played 99% of the offensive snaps. On that pace, he could lock up the first-round pick for the Eagles by playing through the Week 13 matchup against the Texans. Given the win over the Jaguars, the Colts should be competing for a playoff spot through their Week 14 bye.

According to Tankathon, the Colts would own the 15th overall pick if the season ended today. The Eagles could go from having an additional second-round pick to having a third first-round pick if Wentz continues to stay healthy and plays out the season.

For those scoring at home...

At this point, the Eagles are on pace to nab the Colts’ first-round pick and have three top-15 selections (5, 11 and 15) in 2022. As the Eagles and Nick Sirianni continue to find their groove, they could be staring at a playoff spot and three first-round picks to help build the future. That’s a pretty great outlook.

Here is a look at all 10 of the Eagles’ 2022 draft picks as they stand now:

First Round (2)

- Eagles’ own pick

- Dolphins’ pick (acquired in pre-draft trade back to the 12th overall pick)

Second Round (2)

- Eagles’ own pick

- Colts’ pick (acquired in the trade for QB Carson Wentz)*

* The Colts’ second-round pick can turn into a first-round pick if Wentz plays 75% of the offensive snaps this season, or plays 70% of the offensive snaps and the Colts make the playoffs.

Third Round (1)

- Eagles’ own pick

Fourth Round (1)

- Eagles’ own pick

Fifth Round (3)

- Eagles own pick*

- Washington’s pick (acquired in a Day 3 pick swap)

- Cardinals’ pick (acquired in Zach Ertz trade)

* While the Eagles traded their sixth-round pick to the Jaguars for Gardner Minshew, the pick can be enhanced to a fifth-round pick if Minshew plays 50% of the offensive snaps in three or more games this season. The Eagles would then swap out their sixth-round pick for a fifth-round pick.

Sixth Round (1)

- Buccaneers’ pick via Jets (can become a fifth-round pick based on Joe Flacco’s playing time)

- Eagles traded their own pick to Jaguars

- The Eagles traded the Colts’ pick (acquired in the swap for OT Matt Pryor) to the Denver Broncos for CB Kary Vincent.*

*The Eagles will send the lower of their two sixth-round picks to the Broncos. However, since the Buccaneers pick is conditional already -- linked to Flacco’s playing time -- the Eagles have sent the Colts to Denver for now.

Seventh Round (0)

- Eagles traded this pick to the Colts (with Pryor)
