Olympic champion Simone Biles to release new batch of NFTs inspired by her groundbreaking moves

Olympic gold medal gymnast Simone Biles will soon release more NFTs that are inspired by her most iconic moves.

Biles shared her first non-fungible token (NFT) collection in August via Autograph, a company co-founded by Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady. This week, Biles will start releasing a new assortment of animated NFTs inspired by skills such as her double-double dismount on balance beam, and her triple-double and double layout with a half-twist passes on floor exercise. 

Starting Tuesday, those who are active holders of Biles' preseason passes will have advance access to the NFTs, while all others will be able to join the queue on Nov. 18.

“For my newest NFT collection with Autograph, I’ve really enjoyed taking the time to reflect on some of my most groundbreaking moves," Biles said in a statement to USA TODAY Sports. 

"I knew exactly which ones I wanted to highlight in the collection, and it’s been amazing seeing them transformed into NFTs, which re-interpret my moves in a fun, animated way and will last forever.”

A total of 16,600 collectibles from Biles that are set to be unlocked on Nov. 23 will be available but will not be known at the time of purchase. That's because they are part of Autograph’s "Mystery GOAT collection," which will feature NFTs from Wayne Gretzky, Brady and Tiger Woods.

NFTs are digital assets used to represent anything from videos to art. Most are bought online with cryptocurrency and are collectibles that can go for millions of dollars. A Biles Ruby Signed is currently on sale for $100,000, while a Brady Sapphire Premier that debuted in August has a price tag of nearly $4 million.

The 24-year-old Biles is a four-time Olympic gold medalist. She won a silver and bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics last summer.
