No Love for Crosby; Marc Methot Wants Crosby 10-Game Suspension

OK, there’s a bit of history here. Former Ottawa Senators defenseman Marc Methot says the NHL should suspend Sidney Crosby for 10 games because of his hit on Washington Capitals defenseman Martin Fehervary in the Penguins 6-1 loss on Sunday night.

In a tweet on Monday morning, Methot advocated the big suspension.

The hit occurred in full view of the officials and Crosby was unpenalized. However, the Washington Capitals took note. The Washington media and fanbase certainly noted, too.

Fehervary tried to laugh it off when asked about it postgame, “I don’t know, I don’t even know what I should talk about,” Fehervary said. “I don’t care. We’ll see next game.”

Methot may have a little grudge against Crosby. The defenseman, who last skated in the NHL in 2018-19 for the Dallas Stars, will forever have a reminder of his battle with the Penguins star.

In a March 23, 2017 game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators, Methot rushed the Penguins zone. Crosby slashed Methot as he skated into the zone.

The resulting injury wasn’t pretty. While not intended, Crosby mangled Methot’s finger. Trainers had to stitch the crushed tip back onto Methot’s pinky finger.

You may get why Methot isn’t a Crosby fan. Only watch if you want to see something you can’t unsee. This isn’t pretty.
