The Eduardo Rodriguez era with the Red Sox is over. So now what?

What we know is that the Red Sox will be getting a draft pick from the Tigers, and also now have $18.4 million to spend which would have gone to Rodriguez if he accepted the one-year qualifying offer.

There is also the state of the starting rotation, that currently possesses Chris Sale, Nathan Eovaldi, Nick Pivetta, Tanner Houck and potentially Garrett Whitlock.

It opens up the door for the Red Sox possibly targeting some intriguing free agents, with names like Justin Verlander (projected by MLB Trade Rumors as getting a 2-year, $40 million deal) and Steven Matz (projected by MLB Trade Rumors as getting a 3-year, $27 million deal) already linked to the Sox.

In a special emergency Live BP Podcast, Rob Bradford looks back at ERod's legacy and looks forward at which pitcher(s) might replace him. Listen here ...
