A fire that started in a wood stove flu spread to a portion of the kitchen and porch in a rural Odin home before being extinguished by firefighters.

Odin Fire Chief Greg Smith says the fire was at the Phillip Potter home at 1411 Community Beach Road. Smith reports the owner was home at the time the fire was discovered. He says most of the damage to the kitchen and porch was a little smoke damage and mostly water damage.

Salem Firemen responded with automatic mutual aid while Sandoval and Centralia Fire Protection District responded with tankers.

There were no injuries.

The fire call came in 4:27 Sunday afternoon, with firemen on the scene for about two hours.
