3 Golden State Warriors that are too dependent on three pointers

Despite losing, it’s pretty hard to find any fault with this Golden State Warriors roster. They started the season 11-1 and are now 11-2. Although they lost to Charlotte, the Dubs are still the clear top dog in the Western Conference.

They’re the only team in the NBA without three losses. Still the best team in defensive rating and a top-three team in offensive rating, the Warriors continue to showcase their excellence.

The Golden State Warriors lost their second game on Sunday evening. One lesson learned is that a few Dubs may be too dependent on the three.

Against the Hornets, that excellence wasn’t there. They committed 15 turnovers and allowed four LaMelo Ball first-quarter threes.

The two sides were tied 57 at the half. A 14-point fourth-quarter doomed the Warriors. However, their rotation was odd as well. Nemanja Bjelica, Otto Porter Jr., Damion Lee, and Gary Payton II were all given less than 18 minutes per game.

While for Lee it could have something to do with his conditioning, the other three seeing reduced minutes could be the norm for close games, which would be interesting, to say the least.

That said, from what we saw on Tuesday and throughout the first 12 games, let’s dive into three players that seem a bit too reliant on making threes to have an impact.
