Galaxy A33 5G Renders Reveal Familiar Design, Headphone Jack Missing

Alongside the Galaxy S22 flagships, Samsung is also working on a bunch of Galaxy A series mid-rangers for an early 2022 release. These include the Galaxy A13, Galaxy A33, and Galaxy A53. We have already seen the Galaxy A13 and A53 in high-resolution renders in recent weeks. The Galaxy A33 5G has now appeared in similar-quality renders as well, offering us a 360-degree look at its design.

Starting at the front, the Galaxy A33 5G sports a midrange-ish look with a flat display featuring a centered, U-shaped notch and asymmetrical bezels. It is reportedly a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED panel.

This phone doesn’t look too different from the Galaxy A53 from the back though. We have an identical quad-camera array with a matching lens and LED flash placement. Detailed camera specs are unknown, including the front-facing camera.

Coming to button placements, we have standard Samsung stuff here. Both volume rockers and the power button are on the right side. At the bottom, we have a speaker grille, a USB Type-C port, and a microphone. The SIM tray will also reportedly reside at the bottom.

Like the Galaxy A53, Samsung is seemingly removing the 3.5mm headphone jack from the Galaxy A33 5G as well. And it’s certainly not because of space constraints. The phone is said to have a dimension of 159.7 x 74 x 8.1mm (9.7mm with the camera bump). The company is deliberately refraining from adding the tiny audio jack to push more users towards its wireless earbuds.

Samsung hasn’t released many mid-rangers sans a 3.5mm headphone jack, with the Galaxy M52 5G this year and the galaxy M40 in 2019 being the notable exceptions. But the company is now seemingly preparing to add more devices to this list next year. Both Galaxy A32 and Galaxy A52 featured the audio port.

Galaxy A33 5G will reportedly come in four color options

An earlier report claimed that the Galaxy A33 will come in the same colorways as the Galaxy A13 5G, which is expected to arrive as the most affordable 5G smartphone from Samsung yet. We are looking at black, white, blue, and orange color variants of both phones, as well as the Galaxy A53.

That said, these are still very early days. There’s enough time for Samsung to change things if it wants to. You can expect to hear more about the company’s 2022 Galaxy A lineup in the coming months. It might unveil some of the upcoming models towards the end of this year. We will keep you posted.
