There are two categories of Gear in Battlefield 2042: Throwables, and Gadgets. There are 11 different Gadgets, and 5 different Throwables. That makes a total of 16 Gear types altogether. Unlocking gear is very simple and straightforward. All you have to do is level up. Once you achieve various levels, various types of Gear are unlocked for you to use.
Gadgets
- Medical Crate – Pre-unlocked
- Ammo Crate – Pre-unlocked
- Recoilless M5 – Pre-unlocked
- Repair Tool – Pre-unlocked
- FXM-33 AA Missile – Level 2
- IBA Armor Plate – Level 4
- C5 Explosive – Level 9
- Insertion Beacon – Level 16
- Med Pen – Level 26
- Anti-Tank Mine – Level 38
- SOFLAM – Level 56
Throwables
- Frag Grenade – Pre-unlocked
- Smoke Grenade – Level 12
- Prox Sensor – Level 22
- EMP Grenade – Level 30
- Incendiary Grenade – Level 42
The items that are pre-unlocked have no level requirement to access. Those Gear are available to you from the start of the game.
