The Nevada volleyball team dropped its match against the Utah State Aggies on Saturday afternoon. The Pack won the first set with a final score of 25-21. The Aggies ended up winning sets two and three with final scores of 25-15 and 25-17, to close the match in 3-1 after a 26-24 victory in the fourth set.

Junior Sydney Petersen led the Pack offense with 11 kills, in a .179 hitting percentage. The junior also scored nine block assists and one service ace.

Junior Andrea Alcaraz recorded 21 assists and eleven digs. Redshirt senior Chelsea Vaughan started her last match at the Virginia Street Gym. Vaughan recorded seven assists, one service ace, and two digs.

Senior Kaila Spevak led the Nevada defense with 15 digs, three assists, and one service ace.

As a team, the Pack recorded 15 total blocks, 34 kills, 32 assists, 52 digs, and four service aces.

In the first set, Nevada and Utah State started the match by trading points until the 11-11 mark, where the Pack made a three-score run and forced the Aggies to call a timeout. The Aggies picked up the lead, but the Pack was able to reverse the scoreboard after the 21-21 mark. Nevada made a four-score run and closed the set in 25-21, after a service ace by Vaughan.

The second set belonged to Utah State from the jump with the Aggies pulling ahead 13-7. The Pack was able to put some points on the scoreboard but the Aggies closed the set in 25-15.

In the third set, Nevada put a five-score run at the beginning of the set to hold the lead up to the 9-9 mark, where Utah State tied the game. The teams went back-and-forth in the scoreboard until the 13-12 mark, where the Aggies made a six-score run. The Utah State Aggies closed the set in 25-17.

The Aggies started the final set by pulling ahead 8-3 but the Pack was able to tie the game 8-8. From that moment, it was a back-and-forth set between the teams, with Nevada putting up a fight and ending up having the set point in 24-23. The Aggies tied the game and closed the set in 26-24, after a two-score run, and the match in 3-1.

The Nevada volleyball team will be back on the road for the two final matches of the season. The Pack will first head to San Diego, Calif. to face the Aztecs on Nov. 18. Later, the Nevada volleyball team will head to Las Vegas, Nev. to face the in-state rivals, UNLV on Nov. 20. Both matches will be live-streamed through the Mountain West Network and live stats are going to be on the Nevada Wolf Pack website.
