Cam Newton impressed in his first game back with the Carolina Panthers in Week 10, sparking questions if Matt Rhule should start him instead come Week 11.

Newton made history on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals as he became the first quarterback in the last 30 years to score in his first rush and pass of the season. He scored on his first play with a rushing touchdown and followed it up with a short pass for a TD after he took over as QB from Phillip Walker.

Despite his brief appearance, Newton certainly made an impact to the Panthers. He also solidified his case to be the starting QB, especially with Sam Darnold still out.

However, Matt Rhule refused to say if Newton will start in Week 11 when they face the Washington Football Team. He was full of praises for Walker as well, though he did hint that Cam will see more action sooner rather than later.

The Panthers surprised everyone when they signed Cam Newton to a deal following Sam Darnold's shoulder injury that will keep him sidelined for four to six weeks.

Some questioned the move, criticizing that the decision was made to sell tickets given Newton's popularity in the city. After all, he had his most successful time with the team, winning MVP in 2015 and leading them to the Super Bowl–albeit in a losing effort.

Rhule denied those claims, emphasizing that they brought Newton back to win. And based on the early returns, it looks like they weren't wrong in giving Cam another shot.
