The Gorillaz co-founder and Blur frontman, Damon Albarn, has shared a new solo album, The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows. This November 12th release has arrived via Transgressive Records and marks Albarn’s second, full-length solo release.

Originally intended to arrive as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland, the struggles of lockdown saw Albarn mold his vision into an 11-track album, exploring themes of fragility, loss, emergence, and rebirth. Pushing his already-expansive sound even further, he developed expansive orchestral arrangements and intimate melodies for his impressive vocal work to dance atop.

Much like the beauty and chaos of the natural world it soundtracks, The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows vividly substantiates the emotional ebb and flow of the human condition, in all its extremes, serving as a soul-enriching document for our times.
